The Golden Gallop draws inspiration from the legendary Nine Steeds of Fortune (九骏图) — a classical Chinese motif symbolizing vitality, prosperity, and forward momentum — while reimagining it through the refined visual language of Persian miniatures. The work celebrates the Year of the Horse as a meeting of cultures along the ancient Silk Road, where the horse was both a noble companion and a bearer of fortune. Each steed, rendered in luminous detail and adorned with patterned saddles reminiscent of Persian court artistry, gallops across a golden landscape of flowing rivers, stylized flora, and distant jade mountains.
